2008 US Legacy Collection BD8 Darth Vader First Day Issue

Description: As has been the custom of the Jedi and Sith for many centuries, Vader uses a meditation chamber to enhance his powers. Within this specially pressurized, hyperbaric enclosure, the Sith Lord is able to remove his mask and briefly still be able to breathe.

Comments: BD8 is part of the Build-A-Droid line, where one part of a droid was included. If you bought all the figures in the line, you essentially had a free droid. This is one of the “First Day Issue” variations, which included a foil titled cardback, and a bright foil sticker on the front bubble.

2010 Canadian Legacy Collection Birth of Darth Vader Battlepack

Description: Anakin completes his conversion to Darth Vader after his lightsaber duel with Obi-Wan Kenobi on Mustafar. Palpatine brings the gravely wounded Vader to a rehabilitation center, where a 2-1B surgical droid and a Galactic Chopper rebuild him with cyborg implants and enhancements to keep him alive. He rises to his feet, encased in the black armor that the galaxy will soon come to recognize — and fear.

2009 Legacy Collection BD06 Darth Vader pre-production sample

Description: Vader is obsessed with finding the young Rebel who destroyed the Death Star, believing him to be the offspring of Anakin Skywalker. Following on a probe droid lead, Vader identifies the Rebel base on Hoth but arrives too late, as the last of the Rebels flee Echo Base.

Comments: This a a rare pre-production sample mock-up. There is no actual figure in the packaging, but instead a cardboard cutout. Darth Vader was never released as BD06 in The Legacy Collection line, but went on to become SL06 in Saga Legends.
