2009 Legacy Collection BD06 Darth Vader pre-production sample

Description: Vader is obsessed with finding the young Rebel who destroyed the Death Star, believing him to be the offspring of Anakin Skywalker. Following on a probe droid lead, Vader identifies the Rebel base on Hoth but arrives too late, as the last of the Rebels flee Echo Base.
Comments: This a a rare pre-production sample mock-up. There is no actual figure in the packaging, but instead a cardboard cutout. Darth Vader was never released as BD06 in The Legacy Collection line, but went on to become SL06 in Saga Legends.

Description: Giving up everyone and everything he cares about, Anakin falls to the dark side. Encased in the black armor that will come to strike fear throughout the galaxy, he is no longer Anakin Skywalker – he is now Darth Vader.
Comments: This is the same as the US release, except for the warning sticker as shown in the fourth image. This sticker is on the card, under the plastic. No other market has yet been identified in which this sticker appeared on Darth Vader.

Description: Taking the form of Darth Vader, the Dark Lord of the Sith, this spirit is the embodiment of the dark side of the Force. It dwells in a cave on the swamp-covered planet of Dagobah. Although defeated by Luke Skywalker in combat, its unmasked face revealed that Luke has yet to master the ways of the Force and become a Jedi.

This was originally released as part of the 2004 Vintage Original Trilogy Collection. Included this time is a front “Free and Exclusive at Woolworths” sticker, and different multilanguage text on the back. Even though this is essentially a reissue of the 2004 VOTC Vader, this is part of the 2006 Saga Collection.
1995 Korean POTF2 Red Card Darth Vader with Lightsaber and Removable Cape

Description: It’s a bit difficult to categorize this one. It’s on a European card, with Korean POS stickers as well as a UK import sticker. But for the simple reason of the strikingly beautiful Korean language title sticker on the front we will call it Korean. These don’t come up often on ebay or other secondary markets, but it’s a great addition to any collection and a great talking piece.
